With Manchester City securing fifth place in the Premier League and with a long campaign drawn to a close, Micah wanted to send a message to his fans to thank them for their support.

Although the 21-year old struggled with injury towards the end of the season, the last nine months have contained many highlights both on a personal level and for City.

The England defender’s goal against Blackburn in City’s 4-1 win was one of the most impressive in his career as he dribbled the length of the field, laid the ball off to Benjani and, upon the ball striking the post, reacted quickest to direct it home.

While City missed out on the Champions League they so coveted, their season still displayed enough of the hallmarks to suggest that the club will challenge for honours next term.

“It’s been a mixed season due to a few knocks here and there, but the one thing that has been consistent has been the support the fans have showed me and I wanted to thank them for that,” Micah told

“I hope to come back as a better player, fitted and stronger after the break, and it’s a shame that as I began to reach full fitness the season finished.

“Each season I get more and more determined to realise my potential and grow as a player, and this season has helped me develop so that next term I am a better player.”

There will be updates throughout the summer from Micah, particularly on projects he will be supporting during the break, as well as competitions, so stay tuned over the coming months in the lead up to the start of the new season.
