Fiorentina moved into the top half of Serie A after a comfortable 3-0 win over Udinese.
Josip Ilicic went close early on but it was Udinese who looked the most threatening in the opening exchanges, Antonio Di Natale – who already has 10 goals to his name this season – saw Neto tip wide, and he then struck the woodwork with a header.
The near miss kicked Fioretina into gear, however, and they went close through Ilicic and Khouma Babacar, and it was the latter who finally broke the deadlock to score his third of the season and put the hosts 1-0 up.
Not long after the break Fiorentina doubled their advantage, Babacar again in the right place at the right time to collect Juan Cuadrado’s pass and fire into the roof of the net.
The game was running away from Udinese and the result was wrapped up with 10 minutes to go, Borja Valero rifling in from 20 yards to make it 3-0 and seal the three points.
