Former Footballer, Now Pundit.

My new website is coming very soon.

Home: Welcome

In the summer of 2019, at the age of 31 I was forced to retire as a professional footballer, accepting a knee injury I sustained at 19 years of age had finally caught up with me. I played my last game of football in October 2016.

I look back with pride on what I achieved. 295 games for Manchester City, the club I joined at 13. I was an FA Cup Winner in 2010/11 and a Premier League Winner the following year.

I became the youngest ever defender to represent England at 18. I was capped  13 times, scoring once whilst I also experienced a season in Italy playing for Fiorentina before returning to play for Aston Villa for the final period in my career.

Now, I'm enjoying being a pundit, working for the likes of BBC Sport, Sky Sports and CBS. I miss playing, but being a broadcaster is proving a fantastic second career.
