With a few days of rest before I head off to Sweden with the England U21s I thought I’d give you a quick update as to what’s been happening in the last week or so.
We were all delighted to finish the season on the high of a win, and it was nice to send the fans home happy after what has been an up-and-down season.
I would have been happy had the season carried on for another month as I was beginning to find some form, and I’m now looking forward to continuing that into the England U21s.
I think we’ve got a great chance of going all the way in the competition as we’ve got a lot of players with the experience needed, and it’ll be good to link up with Stuart Pearce again.
It also gives me a chance to test myself against some of the best young players in Europe which will only help my game, and there’ll be match reports and views on my website throughout.
Once the tournament is finished there’s not long until pre-season starts with City, and although it’s been a long season I can’t wait to get going again as we look to improve on last term.
We all expected there to be a lot of new signings this summer, and the gaffer has already made one in Gareth Barry, which is a great signing for the team.
To have players of his quality in the squad will give us a massive boost next season, and it looks like there’ll be plenty more to come over the next few weeks.
There’ll be lots of speculation until the new campaign starts in August, and we are all looking forward to seeing who the new arrivals will be.
There’ll be a few competitions running this summer too so stay tuned for those, and there’ll also be details of other projects I’m involved in.
If you have any questions for me carry on sending them through and I’ll do my best to answer them all, and have a great few weeks.
