Micah is fully recovered

Micah is recovering well after picking up swine flu while on holiday in Cyprus last week, and he is looking forward to returning to pre-season training.

The youngster – who celebrated his 21st birthday last month – was enjoying a short break following a lengthy campaign for City and his Under-21 European Championship exerts with England before joining up with the rest of the squad.

However, as reported in the press last weekend, the defender came down with flu symptoms which were quickly diagnosed as swine flu, the virus which has killed 17 people in the UK so far as well as infecting more than 70,000 people around the globe.

Micah was advised not to travel until he felt well, though he has now made a full recovery and is raring to commence the new season.

He will return to the City of Manchester amid exciting times for the club, with Carlos Tevez sealing his transfer across the city on Tuesday, and other signings such as Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz already secured.

The squad will fly out to South Africa for a pre-season tour on Wednesday following an intense training camp in Germany, with manager Mark Hughes joining up with the squad following the unveiling of Tevez.

MicahRichards.com will feature news and reports from the pre-season fixtures, so stay tuned for comprehensive information over the coming weeks
