Manchester City recovered from their midweek Champions League defeat to secure a 1-0 win over Swansea at the Etihad Stadium, though Micah went off with a serious looking injury.
There was a quiet opening 20 minutes to the game as both sides tested their counterpart’s resolve, with some solid defensive work by Micah cleaning things up at the back.
Michu did have the ball in the back of the net for Swansea having seemingly beaten the offside trap, only for the linesman to belatedly raise his flag. At the other end, Tevez forced Michael Vorm into his first real save with a powerful effort.
Michu had another fine chance as he burst through and advanced on goal, only for Joe Hart to race off his line and make an excellent block.
Just after the break Micah slid the ball across the six yard box after a charging run, only for Mario Balotelli to be seemingly felled by Ashley Williams, though nothing was given.
Moments later, Micah rose highest to meet a corner and direct a header just over, flattening Williams in the process, whilst Michu’s own effort from a Swansea cross was right down Hart’s throat.
With 61 minutes on the clock, Roberto Mancini’s men grabbed the lead, Tevez working yard of space and firing home from 25 yards.
Not long after, Micah went down clutching his knee much to the worry of the City fans, and he was subsequently stretchered off the pitch with oxygen.
