If U Care Share

Having lost a childhood friend to suicide in 2005, Micah became an ambassador for If U Care Share (IUCS), a charity set up by the parents of Daniel O’Hare following the suicide of the 19-year old. IUCS encourages young people to discuss their problems and issues rather than keeping them to themselves, and those behind the project hope to roll the programme out around the UK.

Micah has written words of advice to young people that are used in the IUCS brochures, and can often be spotted wearing an IUCS wristband during Manchester City and England games to help raise the profile of the charity.

Alive & Kicking

Alive & Kicking was set up by the late Jim Cogan OBE in 2004 with the aim of combining the passion for football in Africa to create employment for those in most need. Since then, over 250,000 Alive & Kicking footballs have been produced in Kenya, Zambia and South Africa and distributed among the local community.

Micah was lucky enough to receive a personalized Alive & Kicking football and has spread word of the charity among his Manchester City teammates. Micah will also support future campaigns organized by Alive & Kicking in order to boost its profile and succeed in its mission to help those that most need it.

Education For the Children Foundation

Education for the Children Foundation was established in 2003 and is a registered charity in the UK, with the vision to offer children born into poverty the opportunity to build a brighter future through full access to education. On 5th October 2005, a legal charitable foundation in Guatemala called Fundaciòn Educando A Los Niños was established.

Micah’s team mate, Shaun Wright-Phillips has been an ambassador for the charity since 2007. Micah and other Manchester City players have supported various fund raising events organised by Shaun’s auntie, Dionne Wright, in order to raise funds towards the charity.
